"Our purpose is to prevent disease where possible and treat problems that arise with the most up-to-date medical care available. We strive to meet your needs and those of your valued companion through education and compassion."

It is our intention to maintain the health and well-being of your pet so that you can spend many happy years together. To achieve that goal we will often recommend preventive health measures such as updated vaccinations, heartworm prevention, dietary management, and dental care. Remember....

"An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!"

Because we know how important your time is, we try to prevent excessive waiting by seeing our patients by appointment.

Patients are seen in the following order:

Non-emergency unscheduled visits

Please check for the earliest available appointment. We thank you for your understanding in case of an emergency.

Many people take advantage of our convenient drop-off service. Simply bring in your pet on your way to work and pick it back up on your way home. If you want to drop-off an animal but are in a hurry, you should call ahead and let us know what services you desire for your pet.

Of course, if you have an emergency, do not hesitate to bring your pet in immediately. Even so, please phone ahead so that we may prepare for your arrival. We will provide service as quickly as possible. In the event of an after-hours emergency, phone our regular number. Our answering service will contact Dr. Rigby.

If you need to cancel an appointment, please let us know 24 hours in advance so we can schedule another patient in need of service.

In an effort to keep down cost, payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, and debit cards, as well as VISA, Master Card, Discover and American Express.
After-hours emergencies and hospitalizations may require a deposit.

Dr. Rigby gives a thorough exam to all patients. Certain lab tests can then be done, usually in-house, to further determine a problem and render a diagnosis. Some problems can be long-term or involve multiple and/or changing causes. Treatment may be ongoing. Remember, to effect a cure is not always possible, but we vow to do our best to diagnose and treat a problem to the best of our abilities.

We have two certified dental technicians on our staff, Betty Carneal and Stacy Porter. They are both trained in the American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians protocol. Dr. Rigby inspects every dental afterwards. All dentals are anesthetized for a complete and professional cleaning with an ultrasonic descaler and polisher.

Digital Radiography

Our new digital X-Ray machine allows us to instantly see what's happening inside your pet. Having better clarity than a traditional system, it allows us to see breaks and other health issues that before, could have gone undiagnosed.  Protective lead aprons are provided to our staff for their safety. We also have year-round monitoring badges for our technicians to track any possible radiation absorption.

K-Laser Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is relatively new to veterinary medicine, but we are already seeing its many benefits. We use it as part of our pain regime on all surgical incisions for quicker healing and better pain tolerance. It has many other uses as well, such as on arthritis, periodontal disease, sprains and fractures, broken toenails, tooth extractions, and feline acne.

Although we cannot provide a 24 hour employee watch, while we are here, we do everything possible for your pet's comfort and recovery. Constant monitoring, bed changes, and temperature control is done. Dr. Rigby is alerted to any sudden changes.

We bathe cats and dogs (up to 50 pounds) by appointment. We can also treat for fleas, ticks, mange, and various other skin conditions. All baths receive complimentary  nail trims, ear cleanings, and anal gland expressions. Sorry, we do not have a groomer on staff, so we do not do hair cuts.

Dr. Rigby is capable of performing all types of surgery, but her soft tissue surgery skill are second to none. Orthopedic pins and splints are also offered depending on the severity of the injury. We regulate all patients on a respiratory monitor, oxygen machine, and inhalation anesthesia. A sterile environment is observed at all times.
